Re: Losing air in tires when it gets cold...

I just had a similar problem where my tires didn't loose much air when the outside temp was above 40*F.
But, I was needing to air them up almost daily, when it got down under 20*.
    So, I had to...

Re: Air Locker or E-Locker in H3T Alpha?

I like the idea of using ARB air solenoids and the stock switches.
I was thinking of using an ARB Solenoid to control an air horn. Then, I would have a spare solenoid, just in case.
    But, they...

    ARB Air Locker!
I pulled both eLockers out of my 07 H3, last summer (only a couple years after installing them).
And, Swapped in a pair ARB Air lockers. And a fancy new Red ARB rear diff cover...

Re: Rock Slider Mounting Point Question

You can purchase a thread chasing tool. Or, I made one by cutting reliefs into a grade 10.9 bolt.
I used a cut off wheel in my die grinder (kind of like the reliefs on a thread cutting tap). ...

Re: Pulling a trailer, how much is too much?

I don't think you are running that motor hard, at 3200 RPM.
The I5 doesn't get to its max Horsepower until 5600 rpm. So, I should be designed for running at higher engine speeds than a V8 normally...

Re: Pulling a trailer, how much is too much?

GM didn't just add a "High Overdrive" to the 3 speed trans to make a "miserable" 4 speed.
The 700 R4 (4 Speed automatic) turned into the 4L60e (when the shifts became electronically controlled). ...

Re: Heater / AC Issue - Actuator?

On my 2007, Base H3 (it might be different if you have dual zone heater controls???). And, I might need a vin # to be exactly sure what yours has???

    Re: Custom Front Diff

I like the idea of using Stock OEM half shafts (from something, doesn't have to be from the H3).
They eventually wear out. And, even if you don't break one. If you need to replace it for a tear...

    Re: Custom Front Diff

I really like the idea of being able to get up to a 5.13 ratio gear set and staying IFS.
Not to mention, Dana 30 axle housings are not to hard to come by.

Agreed, Care is needed. I do not believe the aluminum wall, around the screw threads, is very thick. Maybe 4, or 5mm??? Try to stay out of the water/oil pockets, for sure.
