    2003 H1 New Kenwood 9904S stereo system & old CD-Changer

I am planning on installing a new Kenwood sound system in my 2003 H1 Wagon, leaving the existing wiring harness so it can be returned to stock down the road, the existing CD-Changer will not work with the newer head unit so I would to remove it and store it ... my question is: what can I do with the open space in the dash when I remove the old CD-Changer, has anyone already done this and if so what did you did with that space ... we are thinking about making a custom 'plate' and installing three USB ports, one connected to the new Kenwood 9904S for integration with Apple CarPlay and my iPhone and two for accessories and charging.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Brett W. Sabio
