    Gas smell

Ok boys and girls, I know it's been awhile. Been really busy with life for awhile. Here's the deal, I've recently been smelling fuel from various locations around the rig and this AM finally located the source....from the top of the tank. I see where Thunderchicken had the similar issue but he never followed up with the results. My question is are these a plastic tank or steel (possible rust through?) or would it be more likely a lockring / sending unit problem?

Aren't all tanks since years made of polypropylene plastic? Extreme hard but still flexible and resistant to heat and gas.

The sending unit gets rusty. you will have to drop the tank and investigate if it is a cracked line or the sending unit that needs to be replaced.

Yep, mine was very rotted and causing a CEL for a small evap leak. Replaced the pump and no issues since.
