    Backwoods Build V2.0

Ok so I started a build thread before I slacked off on it and rarely posted updates… well CHO being reworked left me without a build thread which isn’t a big deal just a better reason to write you all a little story =) Well first ill fill you in about my background of the hummer world. When I was 17 I enlisted in the Iowa National Guard as a Light wheeled mechanic due to my love for the automotive world. They trained me how to fix these rigs as well as how to break them =) so my interest in Military Humvee was already there and makes my eyes glow when I get a chance to take one for a road test… so we continue on, I deployed in august of 2010 to Afghanistan for a year tour and returned in Aug of this past year… this next part you can hate on me for if you choose… I have owned 5 mustangs since I was 16 (im 21 now) and upon my return for my R&R I purchased an 07 Mustang GT/CS and dumped a little to much money separating it from the rest.mustang.jpg After being home for a few months I landed a technician job at a local dealership. At this time I had an old 94 bronco and stang and I gave litteraly nothing for the bronco and got bored one day and modded it a little.bronco.jpgwell after letting a friend use the bronce < bad mistake cause it was my winter vehicle it the transmission took a crap...it was fate tho went to work the next day bummed looking for a truck i was told the 06 H3 on the lot needed front brakes so i changed em and took her for a spin hummer oct 13.gifand decided i would inquire about it, did some reseach and so on so forth. decided it was the more practical choice i traded my stang straight up for the H3 with one condition. That was they had to to put the tires of my choice on the rig as apart of the deal. Which was my very first mod (305/70R16 discoverer STTs)hummer new tires.jpg I purchased the H3 Oct 13th of 2011. Now where you guys wake up from my boring backdrop =P.... next i decided i wanted to go with a black accented theme (i hate chrome) also keep in mind i had not been on a forum until decemberishblack wheels.jpgso as you can see i painted my wheels black they chipped up on our Cliff's Insane Terrain trip heres a video that a guy with an FJ made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYsHu0ndvbc&feature=fvsr my next mods included a Cb to communicate with all my buddies I mounted the two whips one on each side on each air cowl (not thinking about tree limbs(havent broke yet) ... and a three rugged ridge offroad lights in the grillegrille lights.jpgnext up some insurance i purchased a CBphoto winch mount from G-style customs and a 9500lbs winchwinch mount winch.jpg My search for a rack started soon after and a member on the forum MCS hooked me up with his old used Defender rack that included a spare tire mount, shovel and axe mount, and a hi lift jack mount for dirt cheap! Btw if anyones looking for OEM nerf bars hit me up you can have them! defender rack.jpgspare tire mount etc.jpg And i had to start paying off the winchrecovery.jpg after shopping around another H3 owner that lifted his T hooked me up with his contact for his XD suspension parts 4'' lift (tuff Country) lift hummer lights.jpg this is from this past sunday right after i repainted all my light covers (6 on the Rack 3 in the grille guard) stickered and clearcoated them as well. today i painted to match my grille white grille.jpg When the tapatalk version comes back to life ill be more active this time around i am currently fabbing up a custom bumper ill post them pics later as time has seemed to have went by to fast... enjoy!

    Re: Backwoods Build V2.0

Dang that sucks. Let it cure. Mask off the area your going to drill to keep it from chipping then touch up the hole from the back side. if it chips or looks bad after touching up you could always put some hose around the port and it would cover any damage and protect the wires.

With that lift go with some 37s!

I like the wheels, I can't comment on the tires though, I can't really see them.

    Sux bro... Sorry to hear.
Usually, there is something cool to read here, but since I'm not that witty and and don't have a catchphrase, I am sorry to say you have just been suckered into wasting your time reading this.

Don't know if you saw it or if you can get a better price, but we had a link on the H3 page for a front rack with 16mm tie rods shipped for $250.
