    My custom H3 Winch install.

This was pure hell......but worth it!

Not an install for the faint hearted. It's tons of Cut, Hack, Chop, Weld, chop, chop, repeat.

Basic idea was to make it look almost like it was an option from the factory.

Here's a few pics of how it's going...

Looks good! Where are you going to cut the hole for your hand to fit in to engage and disengage the clutch?

Looks really good, I like it. Wish I had the skills to pull this off, I wouldn't have bought the DOI bumper.

Great looking winch mount... looks a lot better than most of what you can buy out there.

    Well Done.
It is tight to fit a winch in there...
I put mine between the frame rails and made a new steel bumper insert.

I also put mine between the frame rails but I used the stock bumper. Much thanks to the OP for this great idea.

R Code, care to explain how you got rid of the plastic bumper ends and got the nice finished sides? Maybe they are behind those ends and I'm not aware of it? I really like the exposed tire created by removing the outer ends like you did. Did you do a write up on that project?

Re: My custom H3 Winch install.

He cut the ends off and put something in place of the open gap and I believe he used bed liner to cover it up. There is a thread here somewhere that had more detail.
[/SIGPIC]2008 was black now green roof rack, 2 go lights, 2 piaa lights, and brush guard and much more to come!
