    Re: cgalpha08's build!!

Just dropped the H3 off at the dealer for the blower motor recall (previous owner had not done it),as well as the electrical issues I have been having with my dome lights and mirrors.

Also, I snagged a used Rancho kit off of Craigslist about a month or so ago. Only had them ship me the front (saved a lot on shipping), I will be doing a SOA in the rear. The kit needs to be re-powdercoated, it's missing a lot of the bolts (probably just going to go to a fastenal with the list), I'll also be notching the front drop crossmember to have better access to the steering rack. It came with some crappy shocks, I'm going to end up ordering some fox shocks with the specs I want for the kit.

Mutaint, dealer called this morning, said there was a fault with the BCM, they are going to replace and reprogram it. It is just over $800 +tax to do so lol

Maybe, I haven't actually check the plug in the firewall, however I did run water through them and they drain as they should. Who knows what the previous owner did and what not. As long as this works I'll be happy. I did check for signs of water in that area and couldn't find any.

    Re: cgalpha08's build!!

Picked up the H3 from the dealer, everything works now. One of the dome light fixtures is physically broken, so a new one has been orders, otherwise it all works!

FYI BCM replacement and reprogramming (at least at my dealer) was $842, just to give others an idea of what it would cost.

The funny thing is that they left a note in the vehicle offering me 20k for the H3, that made me laugh lol.

Dont know about the knuckles other than they are flat tops. It's a Dana 44 with 3/4 ton axle shafts geared at 4.88. With 37s it should put me in a sweet spot for highway driving and crawling

Well the SAS is all done, here are a few pics

New tires have arrived (thanks for the hook up Mutaint) Pro-comp extreme MT2 in 37x12.5x17

Currently waiting on wheels, which are back ordered 60-70 days. I had received shipment of 4 of them, however 3 of the 4 were damaged so I am sending them back and waiting for them to come back in stock.
I am going with these, Mamba M14.

I also test fitted the 37s. I only have 1 wheel as the rest are backordered, they are Mamba M14's. I went with them because they are fat 7 spokes like the OEM ones i have now.

Everything clears just fine, I'll have to trim the front bumper wing for clearance to fully stuff the wheel.

Trimmed the front bumper, makes flexing and wheeling way better lol I had gone to the badlands once already and was very limited in what I could do, wasnt sure how much the bumper would need to be trimmed, got plenty of clearance now.

Also went on a breakin trip for the SAS, more than the other week, performed phenomenally well.

Installed some 7 inch led headlights. Used a 3d printed adapter courtesy of lased.design.

Here are the headlights and wiring harness I used to switch the negative polarity so that everything worked.

You can barely see the white body that is behind the headlight assembly unless you're up close. Looks pretty factory.

I've also been getting my recovery gear sorted. Heres how I have it set up. All in a Ridgid 22 inch tool box.

    -arb tree saver
    -3x3/4inch shackles
    shackles
    -Dana 44 hub bearing socket
    -ball joint socket
-not pictured is the arb sbatch strap, will be included once the return is processed.

Do you still have DRLs with the 7" headlights?
Did the new harness separate the DRLs from the low beams?

To be honest, I'm not sure.

From what I can tell the new harness just triggers the low beam function, so during the day the lows are completely on instead of reduced for drl function. Not really that big of an issues as is not my daily.

    Re: cgalpha08's build!!

Installed some new rear sway bar end links, the end links I had were shot, they didn't like the slight offset the factory bar has.

These are from clayton offroad. They are adjustable, anywhere from 8.6 to 13 inches (cut to size), I have mine set to 9 inches, i don't think these will work for stock rigs.
    Here is the link. https://www.claytonoffroad.com/produ...justable-front

What would the length be if the two ends were only separated by the two nuts? Wondering if you could cut down to use in stock application

Are you talking about joint+2 nuts+joint?
I can try and get a ball park measurement of that.

Exactly, even just a ballpark eyeballing it. This might be a good option for stock guys that snap the OEM ones

Installed the Schwarttzy skid plate. Since I have the SAS I only did the t-case plate. Had to slightly trim a couple corners, otherwise easy install.

    Re: cgalpha08's build!!

Made a quick hi-lift mount for the roof rails. I needed a place to put the jack, and it's too big to fit inside. I've seen other do this and figured I'd give it a shot.

I also have a spare tire mount that goes through the center bore, unfortunately it's about an inch top short and the jack hits the tire before it can seat on the mount. I'll have to cut and re weld a longer piece of tubing on to make it work.

Looks good, personally I would flip it to the inside so the "foot" of the hack won't gab a tree or branch on off-camber sections when you are leaning toward a tree or ledge.
I have seen it happen with an H3 and it ripped the mount off with the roof track it was mounted to.

Yep, its actually going on the other side, the drivers side, flipped around with the base forward, that way the hook parts are facing the roof and handle is on the outside, but pointed rearward so something doesn't wedge in there and snag it. Best orientation i can think of...i think lol.

Met up with some of the midwest offroad group at the badlands ORP in idnians today. Super crowded as the NAXJA winterfest was also happening there, so hundred or so jeeps and buggies all over the place. Fun day anyway!

    Re: cgalpha08's build!!

Installed my PCM of NC tune. It was the last piece of the puzzle for the SAS, which I guess you can say is officially done!

Had them do an 87 octane tune, firm up the trans shift points, change the diff ratio to 4.88 and the tires to 37's.

Took it for a quick spin and it made the H3 feel all buttoned up. I'm happy to have a functioning speedo again lol
