    Front hitch mount

Afternoon gents. I'm looking to install a Badlands winch but was curious what you guys are using for front hitch mounts. The ones I see online all have sideways pin holes. I guess vertical holes could be drilled but I wonder if that would significantly reduce the structural integrity of the hitch mount at that point?

You have to drill for the top holes. Make sure you push the carrier all the way IN and mark the holes then use this locking hitch pin. I've been using this set-up for years and i have zero problems.

B, you know the H2 has a front hitch with a vertical hole to mount the pin right?

    Re: Front hitch mount

HUMMER Makes a Front Hitch assembly that I have for my 2009 H2. It comes with the pin that drops down thru the hole drilled from the Factory into the hich. That's on my o9 .....not sure of yours. Also Here in Joisey ..we have to run front plates so it covers the hole. I have seen Flip up Plate holder so you can Plug your Hitch in which is covered when the plate is down.

Also keep in mind according to my manual, that Max tow or push weight should not be over 1800 Lbs. Since that cross member holding the hitch is light weight. You could collapse and damage the front frame rail if you exceed the 1800 lbs.

Make sure you put a locking type pin in if you want to keep your winch.
