    Adventure Package

New to forum. I just purchased 09 H3T. Arrived today. How do I know if it has the Adventure Package? It does have front and rear locking diffs option. Thanks.

Locking diffs is a good indicator.
Check the tire information on the sticker located on the diver's door jamb. It should show that you had 33" tires (285/75/16) from the factory.

    Re: Adventure Package

If it has front and rear lockers and is an I5 you have an Adventure.
If it's a V8 you have the Off Road.

    Re: Adventure Package

Check your Vin number. My h3t shows it had 265/75R16 from the factory. I checked the sticker on the door. So i did not think i had the adventure package. I tan my Vin today and it does have the adventure package. I have front and rear locking different. So the tire size don't tell you if you havery the adventure package or not. There was a sight posted on this site, in the new member section I think. Thats where I typed in my Vin to find out.

My VIN showed the string "adventure" on a number of VIN decoder sites, but the vehicle definitely does not have the adventure package per the window sticker, and a visual inspection (no lockers, 265/75R16 from the factory, etc.). Yours having the F/R lockers is a better indicator.

Welcome to CHO! Congrats on becoming a H3T owner and not another "Jeep thing". As a H3T Adventure owner since new here are a few things that are part of the package starting with the two buttons/selector switches above and on the right of the radio if you don't have those then it is not an Adventure. Front differential is made of cast iron and an easy way to check is to look for a bit of surface rust that may be on it since the standard one is made of aluminum, 285/75/16 tires were stock on the Adventures just look at the sticker in the drivers door jam. But even if it's not an Adventure you can always make it one by adding the 4:1 Transfer case, Cast iron front differential and some lockers for the front and rear.

X2 on what he said. Plus, ALL adventure package H3/H3Ts came with 285s from the factory. Sticker inside the driver door should say that.

VIN decoders don't really work on H3 or H3Ts. They ALL say adventure package. Best to look at the door sticker and crawl under to check the tcase stamp and see if you have wires coming out of both diffs .

Interesting...was curious as to why that designation kept appearing on various free decoders.

A visual inspection, door sticker, and window sticker told the tale on mine.

This is how you know you have the "Adventure" package with your H3T. - 4x4 controls with locking differentials.

Not just that, I have seen those swapped out for a F&R locker when it wasn't an Adventure/OffRoad.
You must check for the door sticker stating 285s, NR6 in the RPO codes in the glove-box, relocation of the traction control button to the lower portion of the center stack.
If you want to go further, locate the electronic pigtail on each differential and the stamping on the transfer case (I've seen those swapped out to the NR4 case before).
